Dr. David Jeremiah, a pastor I admire, provided material for this message. If we are feeling weak, there is ready help from the Lord. In praising Him and reading His Word we can gain much strength. Here are the ways to tap into God’s strength for each of us:
Praise Him for His love and grace, but don’t forget to worship Him for His omnipotent power. There is nothing that God cannot do if he wishes. His mercy will often benefit us even before we have asked, and He will use His power to help us. Our prayers are a weapon against the evil of the world.
Reading the Scriptureswill help us renew our strength. The Bible is God’s Word of Power. Often we will find a message that seems just for us. It may be one that strengthens us. It could also be something that reminds us of some shortcoming or sin in our life that we can then repent, ask for forgiveness, and avoid. I have received both kinds of help through the Word of God. It is so powerful. If we read with prayer to the Holy Spirit for understanding and to remember it, benefits will abound.
Waiting on the Lordwill renew our strength. This means that when we need His help and pray for it, we then should let go and let God help us as He believes is in our best interest. It is vital though that we believe that He will help, otherwise it is just words.
Have the Holy Spirit in our lives at all times. Romans 15:13 “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”. I personally receive daily and sometimes hourly help from the Holy Spirit. When something overwhelms me or I don’t understand, I ask Him for help and it usually comes. Of course these requests have to be in line with what our Lord teaches.
A daily walk with Christ means that we call on Him for strength, we talk to Him and share our thoughts. He already knows what we need, but He still likes to hear from us. When we are near Christ we are near the power center of the entire universe. He is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Our lives can be filled with the raw power of God when we share the Gospel with others. The Gospels are the power of God and we should not be timid about sharing them.
The power of God for Christians is belief in the Cross. Jesus’ death and resurrection powers our beliefs and the assurance of our own salvation.
